Our first date

Created by Mum 7 years ago
I remember our first date, I was invited to an engagement party of a couple of very dear friends (Jean & Ernie Hegran). I spent the whole evening chatting Chris up, and after a few hours one of the guests asked if he could dance with my wife, I quickly answered "she's not my wife". the music had stopped and everybody just looked at the two of us. Everybody laughed including us, and from that moment on we become not just good friends but also courting lovers.
We courted each other for about 5 months when my grandmother passed away in 1988, I went straight from the funeral to Chris's home, Chris and her son Tony stayed that Christmas and new year's eve with me in my home and in the new year (1989) I went back home with Chris and her son. Chris invited me to stay a few days with her and I quickly accepted, but there was however one condition she stipulated...I had to sleep downstairs on the sofa.
It was the Christmas of 1989 that Chris invited me to spend Christmas and new year with her I did so and never went home again, that Christmas we became an item and in 1990 when I divorced my first wife, we got married (April 28th) and we've been on our honeymoon ever since. I never knew love could be so great, we went everywhere together, did everything together, we unknowingly became symbiotic with each other.
There is not a single day in the last 28 years we've had together that I begrudge or regret. Chris you not only gave me the best years of our lives but also gave me the best life ever. Our love for each other will last throughout eternity and I long for the day when we'll be re-united once again, to pick up where we've left off in this life.
